ikiMap (www.ikimap.com) is a free web service which allows you to create and share your maps. You can create your own maps (by uploading files to KML, GPX formats or directly, by creating on the map), add the vote for the maps used by others, comments, create groups of friends, and more specialized channels! You can label and the map is private and allow access to them only for certain people.

OpenDragon: New Open-Source Imagery Analysis Program

Open Dragon software for aerial/satellite imagery analysis, is now freely available for non-commercial use, and the Java source code will be released as open source by early 2011. OpenDragon provides a robust suite of image processing operations, via an intuitive, responsive, multi-window graphical user interface.

AutoCAD for Mac and AutoCAD WS App for iPad and iPhone

Autodesk, Inc. announced AutoCAD for Mac software. Meanwhile a mobile version called AutoCAD WS will be available free on Apple’s App Store for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The free version is said to allow users to view, edit and share AutoCAD designs and make minor changes.

Regression analysis allows you to model, examine, and explore spatial relationships, to better understand the factors behind observed spatial patterns, and to predict outcomes based on that understanding. Ordinary Least Squares regression (OLS) is a global regression method. Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) is a local, spatial, regression method that allows the relationships you are modeling to vary across the study area.
