AutoLayout is an extension for ArcGIS to quickly produce large numbers of map layouts while maintaining control over the quality and details of the output. It’s built to work with ArcMap around usual layout production process.

According to the announcement, AutoLayout is designed to enhance the map production process. AutoLayout functionalities and tools extend beyond map production and can be used separately for other purposes like layout design, map production, quality assurance, archiving and printing.

Minimum Requirements :
- Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.
- ArcGIS Desktop 9.3 (ArcView, ArcEditor, or ArcInfo).
- .NET components for ArcGIS (installed in Complete installation of ArcGIS).
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
- Microsoft Visual Basic PowerPack 1.2
- 1.6 GHz Processor.
- 1 GB RAM Memory.
Installing AutoLayout :
- Download AutoLayout installation package from AutoLayout download page.
- Windows, .NET Framework, ArcGIS Desktop, .NET componenets for ArcGIS, and Visual Basic Power Pack must all be previously installed. Check the minimum requirements before installation.
- Before installing AutoLayout, ensure that ArcMap is closed.
- Run AutoLayout setup package and follow the installation wizard.
- After finishing installation, open ArcMap and go to Tools > Extensions. Check the “AutoLayout Extension†item to get started. After closing the window, The AutoLayout menu will be added to ArcMap menu bar.
