ArcGIS Tutorial : Regression Analysis

This tutorial demonstrates how regression analysis has been implemented in ArcGIS, and explores some of the special considerations you’ll want to think about whenever you use regression with spatial data.

Regression analysis allows you to model, examine, and explore spatial relationships, to better understand the factors behind observed spatial patterns, and to predict outcomes based on that understanding. Ordinary Least Squares regression (OLS) is a global regression method. Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) is a local, spatial, regression method that allows the relationships you are modeling to vary across the study area.

ArcGIS 10 Desktop System Requirements

ESRI has published the system requirements and hardware recommendations for the upcoming ArcGIS 10. For all of you Window XP users, you’ll need to be at XP Service Pack 3 to install Desktop 10, with Minimum CPU is a 2.2 Ghz and minimum memory is 2 GB. ESRI says ArcGIS 10 available for partner download on June, 21 2010, public download on June, 28 2010.

ArcGIS Explorer Build 1200 Released

The new version of ArcGIS Explorer (Build 1200) is available for download since today. This version is essentially an update of the current version (Build 900), builds on its intuitive design, improving access to geoprocessing services and expanding available maps in the Basemap Gallery.
