Google has announced improvements to borders accuray in Google Maps and -will be coming very soon to- Google Earth for 60 countries and disputed borders are indicated as such. With these improvements, many borders will now more closely follow natural boundaries such as mountains and rivers.
Historypin Turns Google Street View into Digital Time Machine
Historypin is a very cool project turning Google Street View into a digital time machine by letting people attach their historic photographs to specific locations. It is a partnership with Google, uses Google Maps and Street View technology and hopes to become the largest user-generated archive of the world’s historical images and stories.
